A sewage Pipe clogged in West Hartford spilling raw sewage into the street and filling the basements of many homes in the neighborhood. SERVPRO was on the scene pumping out basements and removing damaged property. House fire recovery

A vicious fire that took over a house in East Hampton left the family without a home for quite some time. The homeowners and their children had to stay in a hotel out of town while the damage could be restored. With a little patience and a lot of work from our teams on the job, the family returned overjoyed with the work done to the home they’ve always had. They were grateful to see the beauty that was restored to their property.

Never use extension cords as a power source.

A small office space in Ellington Connecticut experienced an electrical fire resulting from a small extension cord having too many things plugged in. Small assumptions about simple extension cords being able to handle a utility in every outlet causes more fires than you may think and happens all too often.

High Windows

On the top floor of a multi-family apartment building in West Hartford, a simple yet strong winded storm passed through the area. The one tree outside the building was whipped around during the storm and broke the window, bringing in rain and moisture that caused the live outlets to spark and create a fire. SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Wethersfield came to the seen to assess all three floors of the building. Bringing in fresh sheetrock and the necessary equipment to get the families back into their home as soon as they could.

Low Windows

The homeowners were vacant from this property in Avon during the time of a recent storm. These windows were smashed by the intensity of the storm along with the fact that they were located very close to ground level. The amount of rain that entered through soaked into the floors and walls. SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Wethersfield responded as soon as the homeowners returned and discovered the damage that their property had taken in. After a short amount of time their living room and fireplace were back to how they remembered it, "Like it never even happened."

Small Bedroom Fire

Hotel Pipe-Break

After a massive Nor’easter in West Hartford a hotel experienced a massive pipe-break. The main sprinkler system pipe broke on the top floor pouring gallons of water every minute into the hotel. Water spread down to all five floors in the building and created so much humidity that a mold disaster then broke out. SERVPRO immediately dispatched their team and brought 100 dehumidifiers, 200 air movers, and 53 air scrubbers to carefully dry every room to avoid spreading mold any further.

It could be hiding anywhere

This mold was found under some wallpaper after a couple moved into their new apartment. They wanted to re-model a lot of things before settling in so when they started tearing down old wallpaper they were lucky enough to find an early stage of mold forming and called us immediately.

Warehouse Fire

A fire struck this warehouse when a pile of combustible dust had caught fire. The extent of this fire did considerable damage but was extinguished before it got progressively worse. SERVPRO of Manchester/Mansfield arrived on the scene as soon as possible to mitigate the damage and restore the customer’s warehouse back to working order within a few days.

Letting things go unnoticed

This room had things stacked in it for a few years just for storage. But when some things got taken out, a bad case of mold was found. Don't let any area in your home go unchecked for an extended amount of time. Mold can form and be hazardous to your health.

Window Mold

Mold can easily travel right in through your window like in this picture. Then some added moisture from either rain, morning dew, and day time humidity can cause this mold to grow. Call us as soon as you see something even as minor as a few spots.

Liquids and Flooring

Liquids getting spilled on floors is one of the most common ways for mold to form. If your flooring is not sealed properly you may have mold forming right under your feet!

Triumph Church

Partial Roof Collapse in Windsor, CT

Fire damage at a Windsor, Connecticut home caused a partial roof collapse. SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Weathersield worked with a construction company to board up the roof, windows, and doors. We also secured a tarp the roof to protect the home from further damage. And SERVPRO of Glastonbury/Weathersield worked with the insurance adjuster on the next steps to restoring the home. This job reminded us of something important: whether you live in an older home or a brand new home--you need to inspect your roof (regardless of the roof’s age) at least a few times a year and make any necessary repairs. One advantage of inspecting your roof frequently is that you may spot small repairs you can make yourself at little cost. Finding and fixing the small issues prevents them from growing into bigger and much more costly issues.

Banquet Hall Fire and Water Damage

A November 2015 fire at the Chez Josef Banquet Hall in Agawam, Massachusetts did extensive smoke damage. SERVPRO of Glastonbury / Weathersfield restored three ballrooms, the kitchen, and the entrance way. Because the fire department had to use fire hoses to douse the blaze, Chez Josef also had SERVPRO of Glastonbury / Weathersfield to do a dry down of many rooms. Our crew removed all water and removed furniture and other items so we could bring in our professional drying equipment. We also had to eliminate wet materials that could not be restored (like drywall). A series of SERVPRO’s heavy-duty industrial fans made the drying process go more quickly.
